Rules 2010

1. General Rules

- All C.A.H.A and F.Q.H.G. rules will be in effect.

- Wearing of protective equipment is mandatory, including the neck protector.

- No stick measurement will be taken.

- Players having three stick penalties will be expelled from the game.

- All players or coaches expelled may be asked to meet the disciplinary committee depending on the referee's report or upon request of the referee supervisor.

- The tournament management reserves the right to modify or add certain rules.

- Any kind of protest will not be accepted.

2. Length of games

- Four games guaranteed.

- A three minute warm up period will be allowed.

- Novice, atom : three, twelve minute periods.

- Peewee and bantam : two, twelve minute periods and one fifteen minute period.

- Semi-finals : same periods as the round robin.

- Finals: three, fifteen minute periods for all categories.''Except pre-novice(2002)three,twelve minute periods''.

- The surface will be redone after the second period of each game. Only the players designated by the coaches will be allowed on the ice. (In the event of lateness, the management reserves the right modify this regulation).

- A delay of game penalty can be assessed for a lengthy delay after the warm up period or for showing up late after the second period.

- There will be no overtime periods during the round robin.

- One, thirty second timeout will be allowed at any time of the game during the semi-finals and finals.

3. Overtime

- A five minute, five on five, period will be played during the semifinals and semi-finals only. In the event of a tie, a five minute, four on four, period will be played. In the event of another tie, a five minute, three on three, period will be played until there is a winner.

- Take note that the first goal will end the game.

4. Breaking a tie

A. Most games won.

B. Least games lost.

C. Team vs team.

D. Best diffenrential (goals for minus goals against ).

E. Fastest goal again each other.

F. Most goals for.

G. Least goals against.

H. Fastest goal at the begenning of the game in the tournament.

I. Least penalty minutes during the tournament.

J. Flip of coin.

* Take note that if all the teams dont play against each other in a same pool and if there is a tie between three (3) or more teams, conditions 'C and E' will not apply to break the tie.

5. Difference between goals

- The time will become non-stop if there is a difference of five(5) goals. However, if this difference is reduced, the game will become timed again.

- Teams '00 and teams '98: if the difference is seven (7) goals or more, the game time will become non-stop until the end of the game.

6. Forming the teams

- All the players must provide, upon request, a birth certificate or baptism certificate (photocopy accepted), a players card from the F.Q.H.G. or a provincial health card.

- Any fraudulent information on a player can lead to the player and coach being suspended for the rest of the tournament. Depending on the situation, the team of the player can also be disqualified.

- Only 4 person will be allowed to acces the dressing room of the team and they will receive a tournament pass.

- A player may only play for one team in his category.

- 21 players can be registered on the list of which three may be goaltenders.

- A maximum of 19 players may be dressed for the game.

- Take note that a player must participate in at least two round robin games in order to take part in the semi-finals and finals.

- A player will not allowed to play in a game if he is not found on the list submitted at the beginning of the tournament. More, a member of A.T.H.E.Q. must have sign a contract to be allowed in the tournament.

7. Body Checking - major penalty and minor penalty

- Body checking is authorized for the following categories:

Teams '99, teams '97.

- Minor penalty will be 1 minute and 30 seconds and the major 4 minutes.

- A body check from behind will assessed a game misconduct penalty and the player will be expelled (a one game suspension will also be assessed if it occurs during the last ten minutes of the game or during the overtime period).

- If a suspension occurs during your last game, the tournament management will advise the other tournaments of your suspension.

- Expulsions and suspensions are non-negotiable.

8. Other

- We ask you to show up 45 minutes before each game and to present yourself at the registration. Game times can be scheduled 15 minutes ahead of time and we ask you to be ready to play in the event this was to occur.

- A coordinator will inform you of which room you will use and where it is located. If possible, please vacate the room 25 minutes after the game.

- If the team colours cause a confusion, the visiting team must change their hockey sweater (jersey).

- Only the four authorized persons are permitted in the corridors and rooms. Thank you for your cooperation and please inform the parents.
